Founder and Chief Product Officer

Tomus

An iOS music-learning product built from zero and shipped in about a month.

Constraint

Music theory is taught in units too heavy for daily practice

Key decisions

Use short sessions and gamified progression to lower the cost of starting and of coming back.

Outcome

MVP shipped in ~1 month

Context

Music theory is often taught in a way that is too abstract or too heavy for people who want to make progress in small daily sessions.

The constraint

The challenge was turning a structured learning domain into a lightweight mobile experience without flattening the material into trivia.

My role

As founder and product lead I covered product scope, learning design, monetization, launch and early experimentation.

Key decisions

Use short sessions and gamified progression to lower the cost of starting and of coming back.

Favour one clear learning loop over a broad content catalogue in the MVP.

What changed

Built the product from zero and shipped the MVP in approximately one month.

Launched internationally and began learning from early paying users.

Result

MVP delivered in approximately one month.

First paying users arrived shortly after launch.

What I took from it

In educational products, retention depends on motivation and cognitive load together. A small product can still feel serious when the learning loop is honest.
